It was also the goal of Riccardo Cassin, the founding father of the brand, a goal achieved thanks to the commitment and passion for mountaineering adventures: to produce specialized and reliable equipment.

Riccardo Cassin - the founder

As a young man, looking for a job, Riccardo Cassin moved to Lecco where he made his first mountaineering experiences. He became famous for opening new challenging climbing routes and in 1947 he began to develop and manufacture rock hammers, ice axes and carabiners. Thus was born the company specialized in alpine sports Cassin.

Even today there are several Cassin belay devices on various climbing walls, and the company, which has its headquarters in Valmadera, always develops equipment for alpine sports.

In 1997 the brand was acquired by Camp, an Italian manufacturer of mountaineering equipment.
