The Blade Runner by CASSIN is a highly innovative crampon that guarantees both maximum performance and maximum versatility and customization: the reference tool for icefalls, extreme mixed and technical mountaineering. A single crampon to do everything, even with shoes prepared for semi-automatic lacing.
The Blade Runner, thanks to its revolutionary structure, is above all the first crampon in the world to combine the stability and effectiveness of vertical structure crampons with the precision, versatility, ease of adjustment, as well as compatibility, of those with structure. horizontal. This is thanks to the adjustment slide integral with the heel, therefore without joints and equipped with a step that unloads the stop on the heel, also optimizing the locking. The rear part of the crampon is made of Sandvik Nanoflex® steel which, thanks to its exceptional characteristics of resistance and toughness, allows the section of the structure to be reduced from 2.75 to 1.80 mm: this guarantees greater lightness and longitudinal flexibility of the tool for perfect adaptability to all soles. The absence of mobile joints, on the other hand, ensures lateral stiffness and therefore perfect fixing of the crampon - which behaves like a single block - for an extraordinary hit rate.
The geometry of the front points guarantees safety of action, precision and comfort in any situation: on more compact ice walls, for example, in the single-point configuration, stability is enhanced by the central fixed points and by the lower lateral points which are subsequently supported by lowering the heel so as to offer an appreciable "step effect". Vice versa, in the more demanding mixed, these points allow large movements without the danger of undermining the main one in support. Switching to the dual-tip configuration or replacing ice tips with ALPINE hard snow tips (not included - innovative for their chisel design with three-sided bevel) is quick and easy.
The asymmetrical design of the Blade Runner respects the ergonomics and the natural load line of the foot offering surprising sensitivity. The particular arrangement of the tips, in particular the group of converging and non-parallel front ones, shows a reduced tendency to retain snow. It should also be emphasized the possibility of switching from automatic to semi-automatic lacing simply by replacing the new front headband with the cap suitable for boots without a front notch, now very popular, for excellent performance with any shoe.
Sandvik Nanoflex® an innovative steel alloy with a mechanical resistance and a toughness 60% higher than normal alloy steels; it allows to reduce the quantity of metal to be used, significantly reducing the weight while keeping its resistance intact.
