Ortovox fabrics used in first layer garments

120 Merico Tec

In the 120 MERINO TEC ORTOVOX collection uses a mix of material composed of 85% virgin wool (Merino) and 15% polyamide.

The peculiarity of the fabric is the complex production process (CORESPUN technology by © Südwolle Group) of the exclusive yarn: the finest Tasmanian Merino wool fibers are spun around a core of polyamide filaments. The spinning technique creates a smooth and low volume yarn. Thus an extremely light and elastic fabric can be produced, but at the same time very strong, resistant and not prone to pilling. The 120 MERINO TEC collection thus combines the stability and durability of polyamide with the proven characteristics of merino wool.

150 Merino Cool

In the line 150 MERINO COOL ORTOVOX combines Tencel® fiber obtained from sustainable forestry with Merino wool. Wood fibers are distinguished by their high evaporative heat dispersion and their smooth surface which allows them to cool on their own.

The combination of materials acquires strength and resistance with a complex spinning method: BETA-SPUN technology defines a production process by which thin polyamide filaments are spun around Merino wool and Tencel®. Thanks to the protective polyamide sheath, the fabric becomes extremely robust and resistant to abrasion without losing the advantages of the Merino wool fibers and the cooling Tencel® fibers.
