A more compact and lightweight version of our versatile ATC-Guide, the ATC-Alpine Guide is built for mountain climbs. At just 73 grams, this ultra-lightweight belay/descent device is optimized for ropes with diameters between 8.1 and 8.5 millimeters, but works with ropes from 6.9 to 9 mm. The ovalized anchor hole allows for easy feeding and pulling of the rope, and the device's drive mode allows you to belay one or two second climbers from an anchor. Multiple friction modes provide the optimal amount of braking power when descending or rappelling.
